It’s October, and frights are all around the corner in preparation for Halloween.

Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of Humboldt has been busy in preparation for their Festival of Frights for months and are ready to put it to the test and scare the Humboldt area.

The organization will be putting on the Festival on October 14, 15, 21, 22, and 28 from 7:00 - 10:00 pm at the Humboldt Vintage Club.

The cost to attend is $15 a person, and funds will go towards BBBS and its efforts to mentor children in the Humboldt area.

“We ask that patrons be 12 and over and be aware that there will be some scary things going on and some bright, flashing lights. We are very excited to present this; we’ve had a number of people step forward in the community to be our actors. We are very much looking forward to delivering this event and a little Halloween spirit to those around the area,” said Jodie Hergott, Executive Director for BBBS.

A warning has been given to those planning on attending the event, as intense and graphic scenes will be depicted. Special effects are in use which can include strobe lights, fog effects, intense/ loud noises, graphic imagery, gore, and much more can be expected.

BBBS is warning those who are susceptible to epileptic seizures, heart conditions, asthma or anxiety, or are pregnant to not enter the Festival of Frights.

The event is set to be a scary one, and the organization warns people to enter at their own risk.
