The first day of the Critical Care on the Air Radiothon for STARS was an amazing success with over $160,100 raised in the first 12 hours.

The second and final day continues today until 6 pm.

During the 11 o'clock hour today, April 22, 2021, the LeRoy Health Foundation is matching donations up to $5000.00 with their power hour. They also challenge all other community volunteers to make a donation.

Morris Hartman, with the LeRoy Health Foundation, talked about an individual, Brian Thoen, that made a grand impact in the community of LeRoy.

"Brian was a well-respected and admired person always willing to help or give advice which he was really good at. Brian was a long-time community leader and volunteer. He served for 38 years on the LeRoy Fire Department, 24 years on the town of LeRoy council, 8 years as mayor, and 32 years on numerous boards.  He went above and beyond. His passion and commitment to give it his all was all to improve the community not just for his family but for all."

Hartman was grateful to STARS and wanted to ensure that Brian's story was shared.

"STARS Air Ambulance was able to keep him safe in flight and Brian's family and friends are grateful for their expert care. During this power in memory of Brian Thoen, the LeRoy Health Foundation is matching dollar for dollar up to $5000.00 to STARS"

If you want to make a donation you can do so online or call the Viterra Lifeline at 1-877-50-STARS.
