The Horizon School Division has been made aware of additional COVID-19 cases in its schools. In one instance, an outbreak has been declared.

Wakaw School has reported individuals who have tested positive for COVID-19 connected with variants of concern on May 9. The Division released a statement indicating that the Health Authority has declared an outbreak. As a result, the schools’ students will all be converting to learning from home beginning May 10 until after the long weekend on May 25. 

On May 8, the Division learned of a COVID-19 diagnosis at Winston High School in Watrous. In this case, Winston High School remains open for in-class learning except where designated in classes.

Increased COVID-19 activity in Punnichy Elementary Community School, Punnichy Community High School, and the George Gordon Education Centre will see all students learning from home from May 10 through to May 25.
