This past weekend was the 110th anniversary of Quill Lake, and to celebrate they had a Homecoming weekend filled with fun activities and games.

The grand opening of the sports grounds took place Saturday afternoon. Here the Mayor, Robert Benjamin, and the chariperson for both Homecoming and the sports grounds committee, Linda Ingram, cut a red ribbon to celebrate.

Slo-pitch started Friday and went all the way through to Sunday. There was a lot of teams, making for a lot of fun!

There was always music playing, whether it was for the parade, a DJ or band at night, or an afternoon show. Each time was packed full of people enjoying the entertainment.

Saturday was the busiest, and most active day of the weekend. There was helicopter rides, Children's Midway, an arts and crafts show, and a class reunion at the school.

Dancers, cars, marching bands, and lots of local businesses showed their Quill Lake pride in the parade which also took place Saturday afternoon.

Kids, and adults too, filled up on candy and treats thrown into the streets.

The Talent Show Saturday night displayed talents of all forms, including people from 3 to 75 years old.

On Saturday and Sunday breakfast and supper were served, getting 1500 people through the lines in just a few hours.

The Car Show on Sunday displayed many old and new cars and trucks, bringing in many interested viewers.

Kids loved getting balloon animals, and their faces painted while parents oohed and awwed over all the cars.

More candy for the weekend, Sunday afternoon kids could dig for coins in the sand to trade them in for candy at the booth. Can you say sweet tooth?!
