The Humboldt Broncos were on the receiving end of a one-two punch courtesy of the Kindersley Klippers this holiday weekend after a pair of losses on Saturday and Monday.

The Klippers are surging in search of a playoff spot, and they made that clear on Saturday with a 4-2win over the Broncos.

Humboldt got cracking with a pair of goals early by Connor Miller on the power play, followed up by Ryder Knutson, but that was the sum of their offense as the Klippers charged with for straight goals for the win.

On Monday, the Broncos had the upper hand by a point going into the third. Penalties played a part in the opening two periods with two Kindersley goals scored on the power play along with a Travis Bryson and Matt Van Blaricom power play effort.

Kindersley took the upper hand in the third when Klipper Brock Mueller tied it up early and then went ahead on a power play goal by Alex Mack.

The Klippers went into lock down mode with stellar defensive play in the final minutes and a standout performance by goalie Cody Jaman in the face of relentless pressure to take a tense 4-3 win.

The Broncos try to get back into the win column when the Flin Flon Bombers roll in on Thursday at 7 pm. All the action is right here on 107.5 Bolt FM.
