More provincial high school championships will be handed out Saturday, as boys volleyball takes place in Saskatchewan.

Five teams from the Humboldt area will be looking to call themselves provincial champions.

The 1A boys championship is being hosted by Kahkewistahaw and features three of the five locals.

With three medals in the last four years, including a provincial title last year, the Annaheim Rebels make their return. The Rebels placed second at the regional tournament, behind Kahkewistahaw.

Cudworth is in provincials for the first time since 2013, while Middle Lake makes their first appearance in over ten years.

Other teams competing are Cut Knife, Vanguard, Edam, Neilburg, Leader and Mossbank.

Osler and Warman is the site of the 3A boys championship, where Bellevue/Wakaw looks to take the next step from 2015. After coasting through the round robin and playoffs, the Tropics ran into a strong Oxbow team and finished with silver.

Making their first appearance at provincials in over ten years is St. Brieux.

Moose Jaw Cornerstone, Oxbow, Vibank, Wilkie, Meath Park, Sturgeon Lake and Maidstone are also competing in addition to the hosts from Valley Christian Academy.

All games begin at 12:00pm on Friday, with the round robin concluding Saturday morning. Championship games are 5:30pm on Saturday.
