For Archives Week in Saskatchewan, the Humboldt and District Museum launched a special activity on Saturday, February 10 that carries throughout the week. Some of the Museum’s extensive collection of photos is on display, and paper reproductions are set throughout for patrons to have a look at. The photos represent a pictorial history of clubs and organizations in Humboldt.

The display and the event were organized by Collections and Administrative Clerk Lindsey Nydegger with an eye to having patrons come in and identify some of the people appearing in the photos and some of the key events represented. Visitors can peruse the photos and write down information on the reproduced sheets.

From 1:30 – 4:30 on Saturday, the Museum was open, and residents enjoyed a celebratory cake and beverages, along with gathering time to visit, rummage through memories, and enjoy celebrating the history of clubs.

Some of the organizations represented included the Waldsea Dancers, Scouting and Guides groups, service organizations and drama groups, among many others. During the event, many local residents dropped by to share their memories and identify their friends and neighbours in the photos.

The display is also online at the Cultural Services website at humboldtmuseum.ca
