Reid Thompson Library will be hosting a public event with the Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan. The information session will take place on Wednesday, October 11 from 6:30 – 7:30 pm. Connie Snider, First Link coordinator with the Alzheimer Society, will be talking about risk reduction. 

“Forty percent of dementias are preventable, so what can we do to lower those risks and live a better life?” 

On Thursday, Snider will be participating in a Seniors’ Safety Symposium at the Elizabeth in conjunction with Safe Communities Humboldt.  

“There, I’ll be talking about understand what your risks are, but more importantly about the importance of diagnosis and warning signs as well as participating in the symposium.” 

The Wednesday evening session at the library is free and open to the public. The Symposium on Thursday starts at 9:30 am, and participants must register by calling 682-0705 or safecommunity@sasktel.net to register.
