The 6th Annual Humboldt Broncos Memorial Golf Tournament was a completely sold-out event and was celebrated by everyone who participated.

“We had a sold-out day, 160 golfers, and another 60 or so the day before. BV and Co-op hosted a tee-off party by having a band Friday night at the BV, and Co-op did a pancake breakfast Saturday morning to kick start the event,” stated Laurie Warford, a committee member for the Golf Tournament.

She says everyone who attended enjoyed the event and had a great time.

“Lots of different fellowships, there’s always a couple of tears, some laughter. Just everyone taking some time out of their day to pay respects to their 2017-18 team and support our Legacy program.”

The total amount raised has not been released as of yet, but donations have already been made by the committee, such as to Futuristic Industries, Leroy Rec. Board, Hope for Henry Lucas, and to the Archer Franklin Family.

Golf Tournament and Futuristic IndustriesThe Committee donated funds that were raised from the golf cart poker run to Futuristic Industries.

“The dollars are basically distributed by a third party. Decisions through our Legacy Awards Program, which we do continue to do bursaries through the Horizon School Division, we have applications that people can apply for and based on Darcy Hogan's Core Covenant,” said Warford. “If we recognize a family in need, or a project being done, people are more than welcome to ask us if we have funds that can be distributed to that, so wherever help is needed, we just want to try to make this world a better place.”

Many thanks to all those that participated and donated to the tournament and its cause.

“It’s an honour to have them a part of the day, and their support goes a long way.”
