A hotly contested back and forth struggle at James Korte Field resulted in a 10-9 victory for the East Central 18U AAA Red Sox over the Saskatoon Giants last night.

The Giants took an early 2-1 lead after the first, but the Sox pulled the event into a three all tie in the third. Things looked grim as they fell behind 8-3 to the visiting Giants, but in the bottom of the fifth, Marek Yeager, Adam Korte and Jack Biemans got the bats moving to tie it up again at 8.

The game was tied at 9 apiece in the bottom of the 7th when a Ryley Sylvester walk off fly out brought in the Sox Kacen Hyra for the win.

The Red Sox tallied 9 hits with Joel Bauml going 3 for 4 at the plate and Jack Biemans tagging multiples. For the Giants, heavy hitters were Easton Brons, Chas Oehlerking and Boston Bast. Adam Korte started on the mound for the Red Sox, and Marek Yeager stepped up to close it out.

Red Sox host the Saskatoon White Sox for a double header on Sunday in Muenster.
