The East Central 15U AAA Dodgers wrapped up regular season play with a strong outing against the Regina Wolfpack. The Dodgers split the double header, taking a commanding lead in Game 1 and rallying in Game 2 to mount a near-comeback.

In the opener, Carter Huls led the way with hits for the Dodgers in a 17-7 all-out offensive victory. After falling behind 4-2, the East Central squad brought it back with an impressive 6 run second inning. A flurry of doubles by Jarret Rude, Dexter Rohel and Landin Frank, along with a single by Huls, brought the Dodgers to life. The Dodgers added 9 more runs in the closing frames to lock in the win.

The Wolfpack exacted a little revenge in game 2, but there were some nervous moments toward the close as the Pack watched a 6 run lead begin to evaporate. It was all Wolfpack offense in the opening two innings with 8 runs scored. The Dodgers began picking away at the deficit in the third. Pryor Dyck and Carter Huls combined forces to shut down any further offense from the Pack.

In the 6th inning, the Dodgers’ bats came alive again starting with a Dyck double followed by a single from Britz, and sacrifices by Ty Dauvin and Huls. The 3 runs were not enough to even it up however, as the Wolfpack walked away with the win.

This weekend, the 15U AAA Dodgers are off to their Tier 2 Provincial Tournament in Regina. Games get under way on Friday.
