The East Central 15U AAA Dodgers ventured south once again to take on a pair of opponents on the long weekend.

Saturday morning opened with an offensive barnstormer as the Dodgers trounced the Swift Current 57’s 14-3. Swift Current got off to a quick start with a single run in the first inning. Dodgers pitcher Prior Dyck closed the gates allowing only the scoring single in the opening.

The Dodgers got to work on the bats scoring 10 runs total in the first two innings.

The next two innings were a scoreless pitcher’s duel with another pair banged in by the 57’s in the fifth, while the Dodgers polished off what would be the final inning with four more runs.

The Dodgers fortunes weren’t as strong on Sunday as they went down early to the Regina White Sox and couldn’t regain traction in an 8-4 loss. White Sox pitcher Ethan Johnson allowed two runs in five innings striking out ten. Ty Dauvin of the Dodgers went 2 for 3 at the plate.

The White Sox  racked up 5 runs in the opening 2 innings on their way to the win.

Next action for the Dodgers is May 28 with a Saturday double header at James Korte Field in Muenster against the Saskatoon Brewers. Then on Sunday, May 29, the action shifts to Centennial Field in Humboldt against the Moose Jaw Canucks.
