Dry for seeding and now some timely rains.

Things are looking pretty good when it comes to crops in Saskatchewan.

According to the Saskatchewan Agriculture crop report released Thursday, 81 percent of this years crop is planted.

Leonard Gesiorowski farms about 12 kilometres north of PCS Lanigan and finished seeding his one thousand acres on the weekend.

He said even that blast of snow we had prior to the May long weekend didn't slow them down.

"Not really, not for us no. It was actually a good thing, that didn't hurt nothing at the time. It was a nice little bit of moisture we had got."

He also said the seeding season went well.

"Fairly well for us. It was pretty good. Not too much rain, not much breakdowns, we had a pretty good going this year."

68 percent of the crop is seeded in the east-central region, the provincial average for this time of year, 59 percent.
