This weeks crop report has encouraging news for farmers all around the province.

Crops are 99.5 percent planted in the province, and all but a few fields of oats and flax remain to be planted in the east-central region.

Top soil moisture conditions in the region are also also encouraging. 90 percent of top soil moisture is considered adequate.

Crop development for the most part is normal for east central Saskatchewan with the majority of Fall cereals, Spring cereals, oil seeds and pulse crops are looking normal for this time of year.

Farmers are busy controlling weeds, scouting fields for insects and disease, as well as preparing for haying.
