The weekly crop report is out once again, and has the same message as weeks previous; moisture is causing many delays with the harvest this year.

A fairly damp and cloudy week for East Central Saskatchewan has caused only one percent in progress of crops going into the bin over the last two weeks, as 80% of the crop is now in the bin.

Some operations were able to go out and test the crop, and most of what was harvested this week had to be put in a grain dryer.

Crop damage is becoming a larger topic with the late harvest, as the majority of crop damage in East-central Saskatchewan has been caused by too much moisture, causing lodging, bleaching, staining, and sprouting.

The 5 year average for this time of year for harvest is 99%.
