The Provincial Government is planning on winding down the Saskatchewan Pasture Program.

Agriculture Minister Lyle Stewart says managing private cattle is not a business that government should consider a core function.

"There are 780,000 acres in 50 separate pastures around the province and we're going to do the consultations into May," he said. "In any event, it's busy as usual for this grazing system for 2017."

Ranchers, Producers and the public have been encouraged to take part in a public survey to determine how the land will be owned and operated in the future.

Throughout the process, specific consideration is being given to the needs of current patrons.

The Survey is available thru links on the government website (https://gos.fluidsurveys.com/s/pastures/) and is set to wrap up on Monday, May 8th.
