Saskatchewan farm groups are expressing disappointment with the review of the Canadian Transportation Act.

The review, commissioned by the former Harper government, recommends the elimination of the Maximum Revenue Entitlement program within seven years.

Todd Lewis, with the Agricultural Producers Association of Saskatchewan, says farmers would be left without any shipping price protection if the maximum revenue cap for railways ends.

Sask Wheat, SaskBarley, the Western Wheat Growers and the National Farmers Union have also expressed concerns about the end of the program.
