Unity RCMP sending out an update on that fire at the North West Grain Terminal.

As of 3:22 pm on Thursday RCMP and Unity Fire crews were still at the scene of the fire.  RCMP responded to a call of a structure fire at the facility at about 7:20 am.

Unity Fire crews are fighting a fire in the elevators' grain dryer.   The fire is contained to the dryer, but due to the proximity of the dryer to the main offices, the facility has been evacuated while the fire department works on putting out the fire.

RCMP report the elevator was staffed at the time of the fire and the cause of the fire is not considered to be criminal.

Unity RCMP would like to remind/thank motorists for not stopping to look as they travel by on Highway #14 as vehicles stopping on the side of the highway pose potential risks for other motorists.
