Saskatchewan’s Agriculture in the Classroom program continues to grow.

The program complements the educational system by helping to increase student awareness and understanding to agriculture through partnerships with teachers , agribusiness and agricultural organizations.

Executive Director Sara Shymko says in 2015 they increased the number of schools and students they reached.

She says in 2014-15 they brought Agricultural programming into 519 schools in 201 communities:

"We reached 53 thousand students this year, which was an increase of about 10 thousand over last year. So we're all working really hard over here to spread the meassage about agriculture across the province," she said.

Saskatchewan’s Agriculture in the Classroom program held its AGM last night in Saskatoon.
